A pool is a range of IP addresses for allocating IP addresses to the servers.

The system checks available and allocated IP addresses in every pool. To do so, it uses a local base of IP addresses or IPmanager.

IPmanager is a control panel for IP addresses provisioning. It is also designed as a centralized base of IP addresses. It allows a user to:

  • remove the possibility of using one IP address two times;
  • set up and configure a name server to manage the PRT records.

To use IPmanager, integrate it with DCImanager. Learn more in Integration with IPmanager.

If integration is not configured, you have to manage IP addresses in Settings → IP address.
