Moving the platform to an HA cluster
You can migrate a server with VMmanager to a virtual machine (VM) in a high availability cluster. This will allow the platform to self-recover after failures.
Note
In the current version, migrating a server to a cluster with the IP fabric configuration type is not supported.
Process flowchart
Migration scheme
Explanation of the scheme:
VM1 — source server or virtual machine with VMmanager
VM2 — virtual machine for platform migration
Cluster 1 — HA cluster created in VM1
Node 1, Node 2, Node 3 — physical servers, Cluster 1 nodes
VM — virtual machines in Cluster 1
Sequence of migration
- Set up a high availability cluster in VM1. Read more in Configuring high availability.
- Create a VM for migration (VM2) in the HA cluster: Virtual machines → Create a VM. VM2 must meet the system requirements to install the platform. Read more in Server requirements.
- Move VMmanager from VM1 to VM2 following the steps described in How to move VMmanager to a new server?
Changing the VM configuration
To change the configuration of a VM with a platform (for example, to allocate more resources to the VM):
- Create a VM with the required configuration in the HA cluster.
- Move VMmanager to the created VM following the steps described in How to move VMmanager to a new server?
