A server is a unit name in the control panel. The following equipment can be connected to a server:

  • Switch;
  • PDU;
  • IPMI;
  • Intel AMT;
  • Server.

This article describes how DCImanager runs the equipment connected to the server. Navigate to Main menu → Servers → Connections.

Connection status

Click on On and Off to enable or power off the selected server.

Changing of switch port settings

Select "Switch" and click on Port to change the settings.

  • Description — port description which is collected from the device automatically;
  • Port speed:
    • Auto —  it is arranged automatically depending on the technical possibilities of the server, switch, and adapter cable.
    • Auto 10/100 Mbit;
    • 10 Mbit;
    • 100 Mbit;
    • 1 Gb;
    • 10 Gb;
    • 16 Gb;
    • 40 Gb.
  • Trunk mode:
    • Auto — it is arranged automatically depending on the technical possibilities of the server, switch, and adapter cable.;
    • Halfduplex — information can either be transmitted or received in one time;
    • Fullduplex— data transmission and reception are carried out simultaneously;
  • Running in Trunk mode — Trunk mode checkbox. If you disable the option, select the VLAN port. When the option is enabled, select Native VLAN and specify the Trunk members;
  • VLAN — VLAN that is installed on the port. When the "Running in Trunk mode" option is enabled, the field is unavailable;
  • Native VLAN — VLAN in which traffic is transmitted unattended;
  • Trunk members — VLANs that can transmit traffic through the port;
  • UpLink — select the checkbox if this port is connected to a switch/router of a higher level, rather than to a server. This port won't display in the list of ports when connecting a new device. Server search won't be performed on this port. Any other operations cannot be performed on this port (change VLAN, speed, or mode)
  • Reserved port — this port is reserved for special needs. It is not displayed on the list of ports and is not used when searching for new servers;
  • List of MAC-addresses — list of active MAC-addresses on the switch port;
  • Notes.

IPMI users management

Select "IPMI" and click on IPMI Users.

Note

Users information is stored in IPMI. If there is no connection with the device, editing and creation will be unavailable, and an attempt to go to IPMI Users will fail with an error.

Click on IPMI Users → Add to create a new user

  •  — login;
  • User level — user role defines permissions for the newly created user:
  • Administrator —  full rights;
  • Operator— permissions with read access in the IP-KVM;
  • Userrights to view the server status;
  •  — server owner will see username and password of the given user when navigating to IPMI icon in Status bar
  • Password.

Click on IPMI users → Update to see the new IPMI user data.
