In DCImanager you can use ISO-images to boot servers. For example, to restore a server you will need to boot it from the LiveCD image. To view a list of images navigate to Main menu → ISO-images. By default, only DCImanager admin can add an ISO-image. To allow users to use this functionality, go to Global settings → ISO-images. Learn more in Global settings.

Note

Make sure the Default-Iso-Template template with the type "Template for ISO-images" is set up. For more information please refer to the article OS template management.

To add an ISO-image:

  1. Navigate to Main menu→ ISO-images→ upload.
  2. To add a local image, select "ISO-image from a local computer" in the  File type and click Select file in Local ISO-image.
  3. To add an image from the network, select "URL to the ISO-image on a remote server" in the  File type, enter the URL, and a File name, for the image in DCImanager.
  4. By default, the image is available only to the user who uploaded it. You can check the box Available to all users to make it available to other users of the control panel.

  5. Deletion time, hours - enter the period in hours that will pass before the image will be deleted from DCImanager after upload. 

  6. Add Description for the image, if necessary. 
  7. Click Ok.

We do not recommend that you install an operating system on the server using ISO-images as it may lead to problems due to the installation method limitations. We recommend using OS templates to install an OS. Learn more in OS template management.  You can correctly install an operating system from an ISO-image using the IPMI server:

  1. Install and configure a module for IPMI via an auxiliary server. Pay attention to the option Mount ISO-images. Learn more under "IPMI proxy via auxiliary server".
  2. Connect to the web-interface IP KVM server via an auxiliary server and add the image. For more information please refer to the article IPMI.
