There are three types of users in DCImanager:

  • Superuser (root);
  • Administrator;
  • User.

Superuser (root)


The ''root'' user is created and used mainly during the installation process. All further operations in the control panel are performed with admin privileges.

Basic functions that the root user can perform:

  • manage user accounts (admin, user): create, set permissions, delete;
  • analyze access logs, notification logs; 
  • configure the control panel;
  • configure the modules. 

Administrator


An administrator is created during the installation of DCImanager. He has full privileges to set up and manage a data center.

Main features that the admin can perform:

  • configure the control panel;
  • configure the modules;
  • manage locations and racks; 
  • manage servers;
  • manage server equipment;
  • analyze statistics. 

User


A User is created by the server administrator for server owners. The user can manage only his servers and server equipment. 

Main features:

  • manage his servers;
  • group servers into a local network, create VLAN (if the administrator has enabled this function); 
  • analyze statistics collected from his servers.
